Conal Slobodin

Conal Slobodin is a Vice President with Crestview Strategy, based out of Ottawa.

With a background in public policy and corporate government relations, Conal supports clients in the development and execution of integrated government and stakeholder relations strategies, with a focus on advancing corporate strategies and business interests through legislative, regulatory, and policy changes, funding partnerships, and profile-building initiatives. His practice is concentrated notably on the natural resources, immigration, retail, life sciences, non-profit, and northern affairs sectors.

Conal joined Crestview Strategy from Walmart Canada where he led federal and Ontario government relations, helping guide the company through major disruptions and public policy reforms in the retail, labour, and supply chain sectors.

Prior to Walmart, Conal was an account director at a national government relations and strategic advisory firm where he led successful engagements to amend the Criminal Code of Canada, create bespoke immigration pathways, and support major investments and transactions. He has also worked in the departments of Natural Resources, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, and Global Affairs.

Conal was named one of Ottawa’s “Forty Under 40” by the Ottawa Business Journal and the Ottawa Board of Trade, as well as an “Emerging Leader” in politics and government by The Peak in 2024. Conal sits on the Board of Directors of Toronto Innovation Acceleration Partners, a non-profit accelerator focused on commercializing innovative life sciences technologies and therapeutics, as well as Katimavik Youth Services, a national charity. He is originally from Whitehorse, Yukon.
