Dr. Marcus Macauley is a Senior Data Scientist with Crestview Strategy based in Vancouver.
Marcus is the in-house expert on inferential statistics and quantitative research methodologies. He is a published researcher with substantive expertise in Canadian and comparative politics. Marcus is highly skilled at data wrangling and visualization using R open-source computing software and has exceptional abilities in communicating results to diverse audiences. He is passionate about understanding what factors motivate people to become politically active.
Prior to joining Crestview Strategy, Marcus worked as a Researcher at Simon Fraser University where he led teams working on projects related to political behaviour, public opinion, and public policy. He conducted both quantitative and qualitative research for publications in peer-reviewed academic journals, government reports and presentations at international conferences. Marcus has received research funding from the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the SFU Community Trust Endowment.
Marcus completed his PhD in Political Science at Simon Fraser University and holds a master’s degree in Political Science from Simon Fraser University as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in International Studies from the University of Regina. In addition to his research acumen and academic training, Marcus has over 5 years’ experience in direct sales and marketing roles including in the automotive industry and experiential brand marketing.
