Deirdra brings two decades of public affairs experience, from campaign war rooms and ministerial offices to boardrooms and active mining areas. Fluently bilingual, she ably navigates the complexities of publicly listed companies as well as government departments and entities to deliver wins for clients across Canada, Australia and globally.

Deirdra spent 15 years as an in-house expert in the global resources sector, holding senior roles at BHP, Rio Tinto, and Pilbara Ports. Her professional background spans Canada, Australia, the UK, and West Africa, offering a global perspective on communications and stakeholder engagement. Her expertise ranges from major infrastructure projects and permitting processes to key partnerships and incident communications across both internal and external communications functions.

Deirdra is the host of ‘The Mining & Minerals Show’, a podcast that explores the current realities of the global mineral exploration and development sector, from policy challenges to industry opportunities.

Deirdra has advised CEOs, operational leaders, Cabinet Ministers, the Premier of Western Australia, and the Prime Minister of Canada. As a senior staffer in the Harper government, she led communications on key files for the Ministers of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, Industry, and Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development.

Deirdra holds a bachelor’s degree from Laurentian University and a master’s degree from Université Laval. She has completed the University of Oxford’s Leading Sustainable Corporations Programme, the Canadian Investor Relations Institute’s Essentials of Investor Relations, and the Institute for Governance (IGOPP)’s Corporate Governance Essentials course. She sits on the Board of Volunteer Canada and the Organizing Committee of the Australia-Canada Economic Leadership Forum.
