Ania Bessonov is a Consultant with Crestview Strategy based in Toronto.
Ania is an award-winning journalist who has reported and produced multi-beat stories for print, radio, social media, and broadcast. Her reporting has also taken her beyond Canadian borders, including the Middle East, the U.S., and Central Asia, where she covered the Russia-Ukraine war from Kazakhstan and Mongolia. Ania previously worked at an international think tank, where she managed their regional cooperation program in the Middle East. During this time, she fostered important diplomatic relationships in the region.
Additionally, she teaches several undergraduate and graduate courses in the journalism department at Toronto Metropolitan University. With her passion for storytelling and extensive experience in media, Ania assists clients with developing and executing compelling communications strategies.
Ania is a recipient of the Gordon Sinclair Roving Reporter Fellowship 2023 and the RTDNA – Excellence in Social Award 2023. She holds an undergraduate degree in journalism and a Master’s degree in Security and Diplomacy, with her academic research focusing on national crisis coverage in international media.
