Bernie Morton is a Vice President with Crestview Strategy, serving clients nationwide and based in Calgary.
Recognized for his strategic insights and advanced political acumen, Bernie Morton has served for 30 years as an executive in both the public and private sectors. Bernie’s multifarious background allows him to bring a unique perspective to public affairs, including government and corporate management, strategic communications and planning, media relations, and stakeholder management.
Prior to joining Crestview Strategy, he served as municipal Chief Administrative Officer in the Calgary, Alberta region. During his tenure, he oversaw a complete and successful organizational redesign and transformation of the City’s administration and its public utility company.
Bernie has worked with all three levels of government in Canada, including spending seven years as a Chief of Staff at Toronto City Council. Bernie has served as a Campaign Manager, Campaign Chair, and political advisor at various levels of government.
His deep understanding of public affairs and public policy development is informed by the decade he spent as an accomplished Vice President of Public Affairs with a firm based in Toronto and Ottawa. During this time, he dealt extensively with numerous local, national, and international governing bodies. Bernie has been engaged throughout this career on government advisory panels and as a political commentator. His experience garnered him recognition in the United States with the widely respected Washington D.C. based Campaigns & Elections Magazine.
Bernie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Guelph and is a Registered Municipal Administrator. He is a recent former member of the national Board of Directors for Canada Soccer, and has served on the Saskatchewan Economic Development Alliance, the Advisory Committees of Saskatchewan’s Great Plains College, and Alberta’s Bow Valley College, the Public Affairs Association of Canada, among other volunteer positions.
